This year the Rugby League Gala Day was held over one day instead of the usual 2, one for each stage. The majority of our middle and senior primary children chose to participate in this day. Games allowing tackling was available for those who play on the weekend and tag was offered for those who love the running and skills involved in rugby league. The weather was superb for a winters day. The organiser was very impressed with the skills, sportsmanship and overall behaviour of the children involved. The day was non-competitive focussing on obtaining and perfecting skills over winning.

We thank both the Country Rugby League and local AFL as both these codes put on gala days for all the local schools. It would be great to see sports such as hockey and soccer offering similar days.

Next Thursday we will be holding our Yr 3-6 Athletics Carnival. This carnival is for primary aged children, however 8 year olds in Year 2 are invited to come. These children have all been asked and a number of them have chosen to attend. If your 8 year old in Year 2 has chosen to come they have been added to the Compass event. Please feel free to come along to cheer and support your children.

We are looking for time keepers to help with track events. Please offer to assist with this if you are confident, as it's a vital part of the carnival.
