Building Positive Relationships Across Our School Community
At our school, we believe that strong, respectful relationships are the foundation of a thriving learning environment. Helping students develop the skills to build and maintain positive relationships is a key part of our wellbeing and social development programs.
One of the ways we foster these connections is through our Kinder-Year 6 Buddy Program. This initiative pairs our youngest learners with senior students, creating a sense of belonging and mentorship. Our Year 6 students take pride in being role models, helping their buddies feel safe, supported, and excited about school.

We also run a Peer Mediation Program, where trained senior students help resolve minor conflicts in the playground. This not only empowers students to take responsibility for their actions but also promotes empathy, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
Tips for Parents: Supporting Positive Relationships at Home
- Model respectful communication: Children learn a lot by watching how adults interact.
- Talk about friendships: Ask open-ended questions like, “What makes a good friend?” or “How did you help someone today?”
- Encourage empathy: Help your child see things from another’s perspective.
- Support problem-solving: Guide them through resolving conflicts calmly and fairly.
