Exciting 5/6 Excursion to Canberra!

This week, our enthusiastic Year 5/6 students embarked on an unforgettable three-day, two-night excursion to Canberra, packed with educational and fun-filled activities.

Day 1 kicked off with a visit to Parliament House, where students explored the grand halls and learned about the intricacies of the voting process. They also paid their respects at ANZAC Parade, reflecting on the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women.

On Day 2, the adventure began at Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre. The interactive exhibits and hands-on activities sparked curiosity and excitement among the students. They then visited the Australian Museum, where they marvelled at the diverse exhibits showcasing Australia's rich history and natural heritage. The day concluded with a visit to the Australian Institute of Sport, where they got a glimpse into the lives of elite athletes and even tried out some sports activities themselves.

Day 3 was equally thrilling with a trip to the Deep Space Communication Complex. Here, students learned about space exploration and the role Australia plays in tracking spacecraft. The fascinating exhibits and real-time data from space missions captivated their imaginations.

Thank You for the PACER Grant!

Thanks to the generous support of the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program. This grant of $90 per student enabled our students to explore the nation's capital, visit significant landmarks, and gain a deeper understanding of Australia's political and civic institutions. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the PACER program for making this invaluable educational experience possible. Our students had an incredible time, enhancing their learning and creating lasting memories.
